Hello Everyone!  I have been strongly considering switching to a cash based practice (mostly insurance based now where I can be).  Are there good resources available on how to make this change?  For those of you that made the switch was it gradual or did you switch all at once?  What about the low income patients?  Thank you in adavance for anyone that is willing to share their experience.

    Carrie,

Hello!  I have an all cash practice in Texas. The switching over to a cash practice is always a difficult decision.  I do not believe there are any resources out there that discuss the transition. I have alot of thoughts on it and if you want feel free to reach out to us. My wife Cresenta helps practices discuss this process.  Most of the time you have to make a full switch. You have to be careful because if you take Medicare or Medicaid you can’t charge cash to patients in the same office. We actually started with a small second location that I was at for two half days a week. I grew the practice over 2 to 3 years. I am now there full time. Really this is always a decision that is difficult and different for every practice. Feel free to call us (817)845-8747 and ask for Cresenta.

    Hope this helps

    Thanks Kris

I will certainly take you up on contacting your wife Cresenta.  It is a difficult decision and I want to make sure that I also do this in the best way possible.

    Thanks again

Hi Carrie,I do t know if you made the switch or how it is going for . There is an attorney in California who has presented at a hormone conference I attended. He is very knowledgeable on Medicare law and cash practices. He helps offices with the transition or set up to offer both. I thought I would hate is link for you and/or anyone else looking for help.
