Hello, I am new to the forum and 1 year with SSRP! lots to learn.

I have a 56 year old patient, woman, with burning mouth, initially presented with a positive ana and RNP +. I am a rheumatologist and by addressing gut health, got her ana to turn negative and anti ENAs are coming down. She still has burning mouth symptoms that is disconcerting and she does not want to use gabapentin as she is a golfer and it fatigues her.

Of late, she also has looser stools and rumbling. I am testing her for SIBO.

Any thoughts would be welcome in this patient. She also has a lot of OA of back and DIP as well as feet joints. THIS is not autoimmune. it is familial.

My plan was to start her on BPC 157 injections along with GF Primeadine. Any ideas on how to think about this patient would be most welcome.

I was able to have success with a patient who had burning mouth syndrome.

It took many months but I optimized his gut health and PTSD/ anxiety.

Initially, I used Nystatin swish and swallow and viscous lidocaine as he had candida in gut testing, GI Map test and I just needed to calm down symptoms.

He stopped sugar and processed foods and was encouraged to eat EEVO, fish oil and avocado in diet. Increase good fats and gluten free diet.

I did use a natural antimicrobial for a month.

    Methyl B Complex for Homocysteinemia

Prebiotics, megaspore, something like Megamucosa might be helpful along with aloe, DGL etc and Butyrate.

I did use BPC/ KPV oral capsules and optimized his testosterone which helped with his anxiety.

I used LDN at 1.5mg only ( I normally go up to 4.5mg but this is all he could tolerate).

He is a different man and is able to eat a diverse diet. Once he was able to tolerate it I encouraged fermented foods as well.

    I hope this is helpful.
