I was wondering if anyone is using Carderine (GW50156) in their current practice? I wanted to implement it with my patient population, but there seems to be a lot of controversy surrounding it. Has anyone been using this product for an extended period of time, getting good results, and minimal side effects? Thank you.

    Hello Patrick,

Carderine is marketed as a SARM but it actually isn’t.  It is a PPAR gamma agonist that does a great job with cholesterol reduction.  It is also a performance enhancer, hence it’s popularity in the body building community.  It will improve endurance exercise and burn fat.   It is a WADA prohibited substance.

There is an animal study the used doses of Carderine that were orders of magnitude higher than anything being used in humans, and it showed an increase in cancer risk.  That is what caused the contraversy.  There are  hundreds of thousands of athletes that use it regularly without side effect, complications or increase cancer incidence so I think the study is all hyperbole.

I have a detailed discussion with anyone interested.  If they still want to proceed, I have them sign a waiver and use it for 3 months cycles with a month off with good results and minimal side effects.  I use up to 50 mg daily.

    I hope that helps

Good evening Abid. Yes, thank you very much, very informative. I am interested in implementing this product in my practice. Do you have a reputable vendor that you would recommend? I have tried Tailormade, Wells Pharmacy, Farmakeio, as well as local compound pharmacies,  and they do not appear to carry it on their formulary. Thanks again for the reply, much appreciated,

    Patrick

    Hi Abid

I have had some queries about this as well.  Would you be willing to share your consent forms that you use for this?

    Thanks!

The last compounding pharmacy to supply it was South  Lake Compounding in FL.  I don’t see it on their formulary any more.  It is worth making an inqury to see if it is available by special order.  Even though it isn’t a SARM, it is still catagorized that way due to marketing, making it an issue for pharmacies to carry it.
