Can anyone enlightened me as to what can cause elevated progesterone in a 50 yr old male not on BHRT, progesterone, or 5 alpha reductase inhibitor.

First always look for exogenous sources. Many supplements contain pregnenolone which would elevate it. Close contact with a partner using topical progesterone. Some antidepressants. Dioxin exposure environmentally may also elevate it. If it I really high then need to rule out testicular tumor.

In regards to elevated progesterone. What is considered really high?

    Hi Marc @wellnessivinfusionsgmail-com

Up to 1.0 is fine. As you get above that look for other lab issues like elevated prolactin and look for other sources (pregnenolone). If keeps going up, look deeper

Men has progesterone if it been supplemented . No rise of progesterone in men spontaneously.
