Could Dihexa be taken at higher doses than 40mg per day?

So we have a patient who had phenomenal results with Dihexa. Its been a year since he’s taken it and he wanted to know if he can increase the dose to 60mg every morning instead of 40mgs? The patient was reaulle happy with his results, but he wants to know if we could safely titrate him up to 60mg per day? Last is it best to take in the morning or nights with our without food?

It is safest long term to give a maximum dose of 50 mg daily before bedtime, as well as to give it for 30 days on and 30 days off to prevent tachyphylaxis and potential adverse effects, e.g., dizziness, vertigo, spaciness, etc.
