    Hi all

I will be taking on a new patient – healthy overall but has Crohn’s.  She would love to get off the immunosuppressants and treat naturally if possible.  She has been on it all:  steroids, then later Remicaid and now the new one (blanking on the name).

    Any suggestions?

    Eric

    Eric-

I would need a bit more info before I could offer more suggestions.

    Remember-

All chronic illnesses like this are about inflammation and immune dysregulation.  While the medications used and mentioned above help get a patient into remission, they often do nothing to address the underlying trigger of the issue.

So, in my experience… the only way to be able to get lasting health/remission in a patient like this (especially trying to get off of biologics, etc), is to pinpoint the trigger, remove it, and then work to help the body recover from this.

For example, my two most recent Crohn’s patient diagnoses were in one patient with a history of chronic Lyme, who got primary EBV (he was early teens) and then Crohn’s manifested, and one patient who had a not ideal baseline GI system and then was exposed to mold and had issues with CIRS (then manifesting Crohns).

While biologics/steroids might be needed to help stop the bleeding/crisis/malnutrition initially…. For actual healing I had to address the infectious issues in the first one, and remove the toxic issues/calm the immune system in the second one.

All of that is to say …. Inflammation is the cause of all illness. And while awesome peptides, and other treatments can help modulate the immune dysfunction (like TA1, etc), until you name and focus on the cause of the issue in that patient… I think we will only be trading the biologics with more natural “fixes” and won’t actually be “curing” anything.

So, some more information would make it easier to give more guidance.

    warmly,

    Cynthia

We have had some great results with semaglutide and larazotide in our crohns patients!
