Anybody have opinions/thoughts on giving my 80 lb dog (lab) PPS and or BPC for her early onset elbow arthritis? She is almost 3 years old and noticeably lame:( The vet of course just gives NSAIDS. Also starting her on some OTC supplements. Any help is appreciated!

    Many thanks,

Hello Elizabeth I have a chihuahua 10lbs but she was 5lbs when I did BPC 157 SQ injections for her Knee subluxation which helped and she hasn’t had to have the surgery as of yet and has no issues walking or pain. Our 65lb Chow was elderly and had arthritis and difficulty getting up and down and I gave him the same BPC 157 and also some PPS and it gave him another year of good quality of life. Ultimately it was a stroke that caused his demise. I hope that helps.

Anyone else on the forum using peptides for their pets?

One of my long term patients brought me his sheepdog who had been hit by a car and thrown several feet in the air landing on his right hip.  X-rays did not show any fractures, but he was limping for weeks.

I gave him injections of BPC-157 and TB4 around the injured hip.  My patient reported that he was no longer limping 48 hours later, and was able to go on hikes in the mountains without any apparent discomfort or limitations.  Needless-to-say, my patient and I were thrilled with the response.

I have use BPC and TB4 prophylactically on my dog. I have used PPS (Cartrophen vet Rx) as well. The studies show the best dose for OA is 3mg/kg administered in 4x in dogs. The lameness has not returned in my dog.

@jwcostellojwcostello-com did you mean 3mcg/kg? b/c you typed 3mg/kg? Do you mind clearing this up?

And did you mean you injected the dog QID? If so, for how long?

Yes, 3mg/kg sq dosed qw x4 not qid. The dosage is weekly or an interval of 5-7 days. Weekly seems easier.

Ok, so if this was understood correctly, my dog weights 8kg and you are suggesting to use 24 thousand micrograms of bpc & tb4 in an interval of 5-7 days?

Yes. Usually PPS comes 100mg or 125mg/1mL in a 5mL vial. If your dog weighs 8kg, then I would dose (based on the research of 3mg/kg) 24mg qw for 4 weeks. If the vial is 125mg/1mL, then roughly 20 units or 0.20mL per dose. If the vial is 100mg per 1mL, then 25 units or 0.25mL per dose. Hope this helps. Feel free to reach out, if this does not make sense. 702-810-1800

Ok, got it, I understood clearly on the Pentosan Polysulfate, but I was talking about the dose on the TB4 & BPC-157

Great. The dosage I use for BPC and TB4 prophylactically is 5-10 mcg per kg biw. I used 5mcg per kg for years and recently switched to 10mcg when my dog had some lameness. That is when I did the PPS protocol. I think 5mcg/kg is probably enough, however, in my case with the lameness, I increased the dosage at least for a while.
