I ( @drradenradenwellness-com) am trying to create a diagram for my patients to explain the steps when cellular metabolism goes wrong, leading to disease states.

During Mastermind 1, Dr Seeds states a sequence of events occurs as follows:

    1. Redox imbalance leads to
    2. production of ROS.
    3. (and this is where I am confused) He states the ROS cause improper protein folding. It is a direct effect meaning the ROS destroy the protein directly, or the proteins are improperly folded at the Endoplasmic reticulum in the translational phase of protein synthesis ? He may have mentioned a carbonyl group is added to the protein? Can someone please clarify this? Much appreciated!!!!
    4. these abnormal proteins damage lipid membranes producing lipid peroxides
    5. which then cause epigenetic changes in the dna
    6. Phenotypical changes occur in the cell
    7. If the cell can’t correct the oxidated state and p53 can’t induce apoptosis, the cell becomes a senescent cell produces systemic inflammation

step 3 is where I am confused. (Maybe more??? But, I hope not)
