There are  number of different options. We typically try to get inflammation under control using spermidine, egcg. We love pentosan polysulfate sq (weight based ) 2x weekly for 6 weeks then 1x weekly. Because pentosan works on so many of the pathways involved in arthritis including turning down tnf alpha, and interleukin 1 beta, blocking the degradative ADAM and MMMP  enzymes, lowering ngf… we often see that alone get people much better or prep for regenerative.  At that point can do AOD/HA weekly for 3 to 5 weeks. Or bone marrow aspirate stem cells,  or build a scaffold with platelet fibrin and then use exosomes. I determine what to do based on cost, degree of arthritis, overall health. But pentosan and aod  are great go to starts.

I have a patient with arthritis in his elbow, we have been doing SQ injections of pentosan weekly, he is having some significant swelling in his elbow region – normal? How quickly have you seen results with pentosan?

I have not seen an exacerbation of symptoms with pentosan. Usually takes a while for improvement Earliest is usually 3-4 weeks but can be slow and steady. I wonder if something else causing flare. Is there some type of crystal-induced or rheumatoid picture?

Yes I did. Thank you so much for all your responses. I’m curious. Is it ok to inject AOD with a viscosupplementation that is not combined already with the AOD like Genvisc or Gelsyn for example? Also, can you do the same with PRP? If so, how much would be the recommended amount to inject?

Good evening @byurthgmail-com and all.  Is there a pharmacy that compounds an AOD/HA combo, or do you have to order them individually? Thank you.

    Patrick,

You can get AOD/HA premixed from Pure pharmacy and or NuBioAge. This is who we use for our AOD/HA needs

    Hope this helps,
