    Hi all

    2 questions:

    1. concerns about CJC/Ipa going away soon and options?
    2. I remember discussing Quercetin and the fact that Dr. S wasn’t a fan of this (or Metformin) on a regular basis; can’t find the specifics of this on previous Masterminds- any commentary or input?
    Thanks!

    @ejfete71gmail-com

    That is pharmacy specific as of the time being.

    Regarding Quercetin, I can’t speak to that but metformin isn’t something that Dr. Seeds recommends (esp long time as you mentioned) because there are better ways to treat diabetics (ie: the GLP-1 Agonists discussion from Microbiome summit SSRP Orlando) without the side effects/DNA transcription changes.

    @byurthgmail-com would love your input!

    Hi Eric!

    I suspect your question about quercetin and metformin is more in regards to healthspan improvement than diabetes management..is that correct?

    The GLP-1 agonists are a much better option for both glucose control as well as likely for improving healthspan! BUT…they are cost-prohibitive for a lot of people so I will cycle metformin for people with high insulin or PCOS. continuous treatment is not good in my opinion.  For instance in the brain,  preclinical and preliminary clinical studies indicate that inhibition of mTORC1 can be beneficial for some pathological conditions such as epilepsy, cognitive impairment, and brain tumors, whereas stimulation of mTORC1 (direct or indirect) can be beneficial for other pathologies such as depression and axonal growth and regeneration. Similar issues for other tissues where we do not want continuous MTOR inhibition.  For the autophagy effects, I prefer spermidine over quercetin or metformin and I cycle high dose for 6-8 weeks then lower maintenance dose.

    Hey Betsy

    Yes I meant for longevity and overall health.  I remember the comments about quercetin being similar to metformin- ie too much system wide effects for too long.

    I like to cycle metformin as well but haven’t tried Spermidine yet.  Do you mind sending me the source/sign up code etc. that you mentioned at the conference?  I will have to try it:)

    Thanks!
