I have a patient that was recently diagnosed with Adult T Cell Leukemia/Lymphoma with HTVL-1 Virus (ATLL-HTVL1). She is a 54yr African American born and raised in England and her mother was of Caribbean descent which this condition is found in as well as Japanese.  She has the rare form that affects both her eyes and skin. She recently was admitted to Mayo Clinic here in Phoenix and given 7 days of intensive therapy with AZT + Interferon Alpha. This protocol is what a physician out of Miami is doing Dr. Ramos. So far she has done well.

My question is do anyone of you know which peptides would be helpful? any peptides contraindicated? Any supplements that would be helpful? Most appropriate diet? She currently is on a plant based diet but is concerned she isn’t getting enough nutrients to maintain her bone health.

I appreciate any insight any of you have as I don’t usually treat patients with Cancer but this patient has been with me for awhile and wants my guidance.

    Thank you in advance,

    Xan

    Hi Xan,

Your patient with Adult T Cell Leukemia/Lymphoma with HTVL-1 Virus (ATLL-HTVL1) may benefit from the following:

Thymosin Alpha-1 0.5 ml SQ BID

    LL-37 0.25 ml SQ BID

    BPC-157 500 mcg po BID

    KPV 500 mcg po BID

Reassess clinical response after 4 weeks of therapy.

    Best, Mitch

    Hi Mitch,

Thank you for the response. It is nice to know I was on the right path with my patient. She has done ALL of the peptides you mentioned throughout last year. My need is what is safe to suggest now that she has had the treatment with AZT + interferon-alpha and methotrexate? also in helping to decrease her WBC and help with preparing for bone marrow transplant if a donor is found?

Xan- I’ve been reading lately how TA1 will increase WBC, both T and B’s and in discussing this about another case, I wonder at the placement of this peptide in the circumstance of needing to decrease not enhance.

You are correct. I gave her TA-1 initially over a year ago not knowing what she had. Thankfully it didn’t raise her WBC. Her WBC went crazy last February when she got COVID and we were not able to get it down and then the rash on arm worsened. This led me to dig deeper, send her to a derm for biopsy then to Mayo clinic and finally with eye biopsy the diagnosis of the ATLL-HTVL1.

Thank you: another note for the Avoiding Unintended Consequences file. This is the kind of precision I really appreciate learning. Good luck with this case.
