    Hello!

I have switched my SG patients to 2mg/ml formula from the 5mg/ml (with B12) and have a few patients complain that it doesn’t work despite increasing doses. I know about the body plateau issue etc and have talked to them about switching to TIZ etc but is there any reason anybody knows that the difference in the formulations would be so obvious at the same effective dose? Ive heard the 5mg/ml is less stable as well? Any thoughts and have you heard this Leonard Pastrana?

    Thank you!

Hi Elizabeth, since the vial is a greater strength, are you sure you are doing the dosing conversion properly? Some are confused about the new dose on the syringe. Other than that we’ve never had any issues like this.

yes the conversion is correct. We have to use 2 1/2 times the volume and had to switch to the 1 ml insulin instead of the .5 ml (also keep the conversion chart with us at all times). Its a few patients that have been on for over 10 months so it could be the plateau/ resistance effect. Thanks for letting me know your experience!
