    Hi Everyone,

I have a 67 year old female former figure skater who had a huge diaphragmatic hernia with almost her entire stomach herniated into the thoracic cavity.  It was repaired but she sustained a vagus nerve injury in the process.  She has very slow stomach motility.  She has been tried on a variety of prescription and natural motility stimulants without success. Is there any hope for rejuvenation of the vagus?  She is going to use ARA 290 for her sciatica and burning pain radiating down both legs.  I’m wondering if it will help with the damaged vagus nerve.  Would cerebrolysin with its tremendous increase in BDNF help?  What dosing are people using?  Thanks.

    Hi Susan,

For trauma to long nerve tracts, such as the Vagus, Cerebrolysin is a good choice.  Give 5 ml deep SQ or superficial IM over the celiac plexus.   I’d also give BPC-157 0.25 ml SQ qd, TB4 0.25 ml SQ qd, and ARA-290 1 ml SQ qd.

Repair of long nerve tracts can also be significantly supported with ProdromeGlia (omega-9 phospholipid plasmalogens) 2 ml BID in food (www.prodrome.com. access code CIRM25), as well as Astaxanthol 3 capsules BID (PGL, 800-527-9512, order code #7876), Acetyl-L-Carnitine 1,500 mg BID, and Alpha-R-Lipoic Acid 500 mg BID.

    Best, Mitch
