I am working on a protocol for a 15 year old with CP and other neurocognitive issues related to birth trauma and came across in my notes from one of the peptides lectures about concerns for TB-4 in relationship to growth plates. What are the concerns here? does TB-4 cause premature growth plate closure? For a 15 year old who started her periods 3 years ago, is it still a concern?

    Thanks

    Hey Aaron-

While I am not a TB-4 expert (I’ll leave this part of the answer to others), I am a kid expert (pediatrician of 22 years).  And girls stop growing 2 years after menarche. So I would expect this teen’s growth plates to be closed already.   You could of course, if you wanted to be absolutely sure,  get an X-ray or ask her pediatrician for her growth chart to confirm this. But at three years…. You should be good.

    Cynthia,

I assume that there would be no affect but just wondering from the group if anyone has seen or known of it. I just came across this when reviewing my notes from the 1st two peptide certification modules and wanted to be sure.

    Thanks

    Aaron
