research says that NAD levels decrease every decade after 30 years old by half and half again each year.
is there a healthy target range for aging patients to ensure cell health. This is the first i heard that supplementing NAD or precursors could be counterproductive.
Understanding that NAD+ SQ molecule is too big to enter the cell so the body has to turn that into something else like NR or other to then enter the cell membrane. seems like a lot of work for the body to start with. So taking a precursor out of the gate would seem more reasonable if you cannot fix the underlying issue of deficient NAD but then what is “deficient” for a 70YR Female active and in decent health? Wouldn’t you need to understand “good levels” are to start with ?
I have read where NAD is one of the most important pillars to managing age related disease, but this rabbit hole suggests supplementation could do more harm than good
