A new framework on neurocognitive dysfunction to interpret mitochondrial and redox mechanisms for clearer clinical reasoning, to support clinical decision-making.
For clinicians working with cognitive decline and complex cases.
In this advanced-level, 32-lesson mastermind, Dr. Seeds explores the intricate cellular pathways behind a number of neurodegenerative diseases, isolating the mechanistic issues that can set off neuronal degradation. He begins by defining neurodegenerative disease as an “energy crisis” in the cellular apparatus. Through an in-depth examination of the role of microglial cells in protecting the brain; the immune crosstalk with the CNS; and the role of astrocytes, the metabolic intermediaries of the brain, Dr. Seeds offers crucial insight into the cellular roots of neurodegeneration. He also explores the often overlooked function of oligodendrocytes, which are responsible for myleination, and the importance of the gut-brain axis. Ultimately, the course arrives at the power of redox as a functional lens through which to restore brain homeostasis and potentially prevent or offset neurodegeneration and loss of cognitive function that accompanies Parkinson’s , Alzheimer’s, and Multiple Sclerosis. In addition, Dr. Seeds outlines a unique, comprehensive framework that clinicians can apply in their practice to both address neurodegenerative disease and optimize cognitive function – as well as overall patient healthspan. Through these immersive lessons, you will gain a systems-level understanding of key cellular players (neurons, microglia, astrocytes, oligodendrocytes), mitochondrial networks, redox dynamics, neuroimmune crosstalk, and clinical protocols.
What's Included
This course is organized as themed, recorded lessons that move from core mechanisms of neurocognitive dysfunction into clinician-facing frameworks for evaluation and follow-up. The structure supports stepwise learning, with repeated attention to evidence limitations and how to interpret findings over time.

William Seeds, MD
Before establishing the SSRP Institute, Dr. Seeds served as a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist for nearly three decades, including Chief of Surgery, Orthopedic Residency Site Director, and Director of The Ohio Bone & Joint Institute for University Hospitals.
His significant contributions to sports medicine have been recognized at the NFL Hall of Fame. He has consulted for athletes across all major sports leagues, including the NFL, NHL, MLB, NBA, and even the performers on “Dancing with the Stars.”
Through his research at the SSRP Institute, Dr. Seeds continues to explore the cellular pathways and mechanisms that positively impact disease and dysfunction in the body as well as optimize physical performance.
